Common questions about neck pain & headaches

What causes neck pain?

Long hours at a desk or on your phone, stress, poor sleep, changes in activity and old injuries can all contribute. A physiotherapy assessment helps identify what's driving your symptoms.

Can physiotherapy help with headaches?

Some headaches, called cervicogenic headaches, come from the joints and muscles of the neck. We assess whether your neck is contributing to your headaches and, if so, build a treatment plan around it. If your headaches are new, severe or come with other symptoms, see your GP as well.

Do you treat jaw (TMJ) pain?

Yes. Jaw pain, clicking and tension are often linked with the neck and the muscles around the jaw, so we assess both.

Can my desk setup cause neck pain?

It can contribute. Your physio can look at how you sit and work, and suggest practical changes to your desk, screen and daily habits.

Should I rest my neck?

Keeping your neck completely still usually isn't recommended. Gentle movement within comfort is generally better, and your physio will guide you on what to keep doing and what to modify.

Do you treat clients outside Drummoyne?

Yes, we see clients from right across the Inner West and beyond, including Five Dock, Concord, Rozelle, Abbotsford, Russell Lea, Canada Bay, Balmain, Lilyfield, Leichhardt, Haberfield, Hunters Hill and Gladesville.

Do I need a scan or referral first?

No, you don't need a scan or a referral to see us. Your physio will assess you and guide you on whether a scan is needed.

Can I claim on private health?

Yes, we offer private health fund rebates, making it easier and more affordable to get the care you need.
