Common questions about sports injuries & surgery rehab

Should I see a physio before surgery?

It's often worth it. Prehab helps you go into surgery stronger and more confident, and gives you a head start on recovery. We follow your surgeon's advice throughout.

When can I start rehab after surgery?

We follow your surgeon's protocol, which usually starts in the first few weeks. Bring any instructions from your surgeon to your first appointment.

When can I return to running or sport?

It depends on your injury and how your body is responding. We use strength and movement testing to guide a gradual return, rather than a fixed date.

Can I keep training with an injury?

Often you can keep active in some way. Your physio will help you adjust your training load so you stay as active as possible while you recover.

Do I need a scan or referral first?

No, you don't need a scan or a referral to see us. Your physio will assess you and guide you on whether a scan is needed.

Do you treat clients outside Drummoyne?
